Blood Tests

Blood testing helps to identify various disease processes which cannot always be detected from clinical examination. It is also a quick way of confirming good health or loking for deficiencies. At our clinic, we offer individual or combinations of blood tests depending on your requirements and GP advice.

Full Blood Screen

The full blood screen is used to identify any health issues that may need to be addressed before they develop into more serious health problems. The can also be used to determine how your lifestyle or family history may be affecting your blood cells and putting your health at risk. The test will also show if you already have any underlying medical conditions such as diabetes, anaemia and osteoporosis.

The full blood screen includes:

• Biochemistry
• Blood Glucose and Lipids - to test for type 1 and type 2 diabetes
• Cholesterol
• Haematology - to test for anaemia
• Kidney Function
• Liver Function
• Thyroid Function - to test for thyroid deficiency
• Vitamin D

You will receive a report detailing the clinical findings and diagnostic results together with recommendations to improve your well-being.

Other Blood Tests

All of the above tests can also be done individually, as can:

• Full STI screening
• B12 screening
• PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) - A prostate cancer marker for men
• Female fertility and menopausal screen
• Cancer tumour markers - For pancreatic, breast, bowel, gastric and ovarian cancers.
