Flu Vaccine

The vaccination process only takes a short while. A new vaccination for children is also available, it is just as effective as the adult vaccination and is administered as a  nasal spray.

Please call us to check for availability and book your appointment to receive the vaccine.

Please note: You do not require a doctor consultation to receive the vaccine, you will just be asked to fill out a short questionnare to ensure you are suitable.

Influenza, more commonly known as flu, is a highly infectious illness which can be spread rapidly via the coughs and sneezes of people carrying the virus. You can also pick up the virus via door handles and other objects (even bank notes) which have been contaminated by carriers of the virus.

Influenza is far more serious than a simple cold. Symptoms vary from person to person but include:

  • Coughing
  • Sneezing
  • General Weakness
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches which can be quite severe
  • Periods of feeling "hot and cold"

Most people will normally recover within a few weeks, however, for the elderly, young, pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems, the condition may not clear up so quickly and could become more severe.

Modern flu vaccines administered before the flu season starts, normally from late September and October can offer protection against the virus.
